Silent Flight Energy is a South African Green Energy hybrid power manufacturer based in Cape Town. Our 4kW scalable vertical axis wind turbine sets a new standard in high efficiency off-grid power production, forming the heart of our hybrid wind + solar panel power solution.

Unlike Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines (HAWTs), Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWTs) always face the wind. Combined with solar panels, our VAWT provides a reliable stand-alone power generation solution far from transmission lines, wherever electricity is needed.

Our low weight, high strength VAWT is built of carbon fibre and uses a proprietary encrypted self-learning power generation algorithm. Each Silent Flight Energy power production unit forms an individual remotely monitored IOT node, reporting power production and operational data to the Cloud. The hybrid VAWT and solar power production unit comprises a comprehensive sensor platform gathering operational data used for power production optimisation via remote management, according to its own local prevailing wind conditions.

Unique to wind turbines, our VAWT comprises surface strain gauges for monitoring and reporting its total structural integrity 24/7 to the Cloud, enabling the wind turbine to operate safely over many decades.

This highly efficient VAWT design is scalable to 40kW making it suitable for a wide range of applications from remote healthcare facilities, farms, and water pumping to mobile telecommunications base stations.

Together with its European partners, Silent Flight Energy secured a European Union Innowwide grant in 2020, ranking 3rd out of 50 successful applicants, which enabled the setting up of its South African operation.

Silent Flight Energy provides security and continuity of energy supply in times of rising energy prices. The projected payback time for our hybrid VAWT + Solar panel solution is less than 5 years.
